Mit Rotorama habe ich eine experimentelle Methode
der generativen Formfindung entwickelt. Durch Rotation treffen
jeweils zwei Materialien aufeinander: Flüssiges Zinn,
Aluminium, Gips oder Schokolade wird durch Zentrifugalkraft
in Bewegung versetzt, während Ölsand, Salz oder Eis Widerstand
erzeugt und den Prozess mitgestaltet. Aus dem Zusammenspiel
von Bewegung, Materialverhalten, Zufall und Intuition entstehen
einzigartige Objekte, die Dynamik einfangen und einen Moment
fixieren. Die Weiterentwicklung dieser Formen zu Leuchten
bildet den nächsten Schritt des Projekts; ein erster Prototyp
entstand bereits im Rahmen der Bachelorarbeit.
With Rotorama, I developed an experimental method
of generative form-finding. Through rotation, two materials
are brought into interaction at a time: molten tin, aluminium,
plaster, or chocolate is set in motion by centrifugal force,
while oil-bonded sand, salt, or ice creates resistance and
helps shape the process. The interplay of movement, material
behaviour, chance, and intuition produces unique objects that
capture dynamics and freeze a moment in time. Developing these
forms into luminaires is the next step in the project; an
initial prototype was already created as part of the bachelor’s
thesis.
